Chastain Friends of the Arts is a volunteer group of artists, collectors, instructors, students, and patrons who enjoy and support Chastain Arts Center & Gallery.
The Friends’ mission is to foster education, awareness, appreciation, and funding
of the arts in the surrounding community.
The Arts Center offers classes for all ages and all levels of interest. Offerings include jewelry and metalsmithing, mixed media, painting,
drawing, pottery, hand-building, sculpture, glass fusion, printmaking, frame making.

THE GALLERY
Fulton County constructed the buildings now known as Chastain Arts Center and the Galloway School between 1901 and 1911. The buildings were originally almshouses (or poorhouses) for the elderly, disabled, and unemployable. Thomas Henry Morgan, known as the ‘Dean of Atlanta’s architects’, designed the two Neo-Classical buildings.
Chastain Friends of the Arts recently raised $2,000 to purchase pottery wheels.
Chastain Friends of the Arts have supported the Chastain Arts Center since 2012. For example, Chastain Friends of the Arts provided funding for painting the bathrooms, three studios and the outdoor banisters, replaced old tables, bought lights for the gallery, paid for photo booth improvements, bought sand blasters and a generator for pottery and jewelry, purchased curtains for gallery studio, bought new spotlights for highlighting models, and purchased two framing vices.
